General, old, vintage, current and pop. They vary sessions and affect the score: an old word earns +2 points, vintage or current +1.
3 points on the first try, 2 on the second, 1 on the third, plus the category bonus.
Words you missed or found late come back a few days later for spaced review.
A freeze protects your streak if you skip a day. You earn them by playing regularly.
